Comments, Complaints & Feedback Survey Form

The taxpayer liaison officer is appointed by the Ector County Appraisal District board of directors and is responsible for these primary duties under the Texas Property Tax Code (Sec 6.052):

  • Providing the public with information and materials regarding the functions of the board of directors, the appraisal process, protest procedures, and filing comments and suggestions;
  • Public access functions, such as providing reasonable opportunity to speak to the board;
  • Resolving disputes not involving matters that may be protested at the ARB;
  • Providing clerical assistance to the local administrative judge in the selection of ARB members;
  • Receiving all comments filed by the chief appraiser, property owners, or property owners' agents regarding the fairness and efficiency of the ARB;
  • Reporting to the board of directors regarding the status of all comments;
  • Forwarding all comments and suggestions to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
